‘Create Cutlery’ on Tag Your Green

Hey Internet, I don’t usually ask for too much from you - but I was wondering if you could do me a small favor? I entered my ‘Create Cutlery’ project into the Make: Tag Your Green contest and I would really appreciate it if you’d take a second (seriously, one or two seconds) just to click ‘vote’.

Tag Your Green

You can only vote for a particular project once, but you can vote for as many projects as you like! If you don’t like my project, feel free to take a look at the other ones and vote for whoever. A Georgia Tech alumn and friend, Karen MacKay, has her Vertical Theory project entered, too - you can vote for her here.

Stained-Glass-Window Progress!
Remember that time I said I started a project? Well, I did! And I’m making progress! I had a helper trim out the posterboard frame, complete with some finicky measurements ((the window isn’t actually a square - it’s 29.5” x 31.5”)). Next step in the process is to attach two 12” x 24” sheets of vellum, then trace the above pattern into each of the four quadrants. THEN comes the fun painting, which I’ll be using as a break inbetween bouts of school work all weekend. After doing a lot of material testing (acrylic paint, watercolors, Sharpies, colored pencils, pens, etc.), I plan on doing all the “lead”-in-between-seams in bold, black acrylic paint and then the panes in watercolor. As per request, I’m going to attempt to do facets on all the different panes. Whew! Exciting.

Ps. The colors in the above Illustrator pattern probably aren’t the final colors. Jussayin.

Had an in-class pin up today; and got decent feedback from my studio class. I’m happy with myself for sort of “playing along” with the project - since we were supposed to think of ‘The Future’, and I feel like I committed, and that’s helped me keep my concepts clear.

Doing a project about “The Future” right now in studio. I’m guesstimating that we’ll all be really bad at being social (think 5-10 years from now when people that grew up on Myspace and Facebook will be trying to do things IRL).Making a ‘friend’ tool.
